Recently, the academic paper Do Confucian values and working experience matter? The impact of provincial governors' characteristics on the management level of major road accidents in China was published in Risk Analysis (SCI/SSCI JCR Q1), a top journal in the field of risk management.

Risk Analysis is the official journal of the Society for Risk Analysis (SRA), an ABS 4-star journal in the ABS Academic Journal Quality Guide published by the Association of Business Schools (ABS). The average impact factor for the last 5 years is 4.155.

The paper uses the scalar index of the power law distribution of road traffic accidents to portray the management level of regional major traffic accidents, and explores the relationship between governor characteristics and the management level of major traffic accidents based on the higher order theory, introducing Confucianism into the framework of higher order theory. The study finds that the level of major traffic accident management is related to the governor's tenure, central context, and Confucian culture, and that the positive effect of Confucian culture on the level of major traffic accident management is stronger when the pressure of traffic regulation is higher. The study contributes to our understanding of the relationship between public sector leader traits and organizational outcomes.
