Introduction of the major of Human Resource Management

I. Professional History

    The major of Human Resource Management was established in 2000, which is the core major of Business Administration of Anhui University of Finance and Economics and the pilot major of comprehensive reform at the provincial/university level. Over the years, the major has been recruiting undergraduates nationwide, relying on the master's degree granting site of business management to recruit scientific degree postgraduates, and participating in the cultivation of professional degree postgraduates (MBA), and has delivered more than 2000 excellent master and undergraduate graduates for national and local economic construction, accumulating good social reputation and professional reputation.

II. Cultivation Objectives

    The major aims to cultivate high-level applied professionals who practice the core values of socialism, adhere to moral education, achieve comprehensive development of morality, intellect, physique and beauty, have solid foundation, strong ability and high quality, rich in integrity and integrity and social responsibility, can skillfully use modern information technology, have the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship, competitive and cooperative consciousness and coordination and communication ability, and adapt to the needs of economic and social development.

III. Features and Requirements

    The major insists on the construction idea of four-in-one and the training mode of two-wheel drive in the process of talent cultivation, and organically combines education and teaching, scientific research, social service and talent cultivation. With     teaching as the hand, scientific research as the engine, service as the opportunity, and talents as the target, we make every effort to create four high graduates, namely, high professional quality, high practical ability, high employment ratio and high professional recognition. At the same time, we combine the training of excellent talents with the training of human resource managers, emphasize the training mode of bachelor's degree + vocational skills certificate, train students' thinking ability, adaptability and communication ability based on theoretical knowledge, and actively participate in various professional competitions and social practice at all levels.

    Through four years of study, students can systematically master the basic theories and professional knowledge in management, economics, psychology and sociology, receive targeted training in human resource management methods and techniques, and have the ability to analyze and solve practical problems in human resource management by applying theories and basic principles related to management and human resource management. The specific performance is as follows

1. a reasonable structure of political, professional and humanistic qualities, with the ability to survive and compete in the market economy conditions;

2. mastering the relevant theories and basic knowledge of management, economics and human resource management;

3. master the qualitative and quantitative analysis methods of human resource management;

4. have strong basic skills in language and written expression, interpersonal communication, organization and coordination, and leadership;

5. familiar with the policies and laws and regulations related to human resources management;

6. understand the theoretical frontier and development of management and human resource management disciplines;

7. master the basic methods of literature search and data inquiry, and have certain scientific research ability and strong practical working ability.

IV. Faculty

    There are 17 full-time teachers in this major, including 6 professors, 7 associate professors and 4 lecturers; 8 master's supervisors; 10 doctors and studying doctors and 7 masters. Among them, many teachers are reserve candidates of Anhui academic and technical leaders, Longhu scholars, provincial teaching talents and university teaching masters.

V. Teaching and Scientific Research

    The teachers of this major pay attention to and actively carry out teaching and scientific research work, forming a united, collaborative and enterprising team of strength. In terms of teaching and research, they have completed the construction of the provincial high-quality course Human Resource Management and the school-level model course (Mooc), and are now presiding over the research of the pilot project of comprehensive reform of human resource management at the provincial/college level.

    In terms of scientific research, teachers of the major have presided over 3 National Social Science Foundation projects, more than 30 provincial and ministerial level scientific research projects such as Ministry of Education, and published more than 60 academic papers in journals such as Chinese Journal of Management, Foreign Economics & Management, Studies in Science of ScienceJournal of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management and  Human Resources Development of China. The visibility and influence of the profession have been effectively improved through hosting and participating in relevant academic conferences and seminars at home and abroad.

Ⅵ.Academic Structure and Degree Award

    The basic academic term of the major is four years, and the flexible academic term of 3~6 years is implemented.

Undergraduates who have declared to be approved to take a break from innovation and entrepreneurship and to be conscripted into the People's Liberation Army of China (including The Chinese Armed Police Force) have a maximum of 8 years of study.

    Students who have completed all the credits within the prescribed academic system and passed all the examinations will be issued a bachelor's degree certificate, and a bachelor's degree in management will be awarded in accordance with the provisions of the Measures for Awarding Bachelor's Degrees to General Undergraduates of Anhui University of Finance and Economics. Those who fail to pass the examination will be dealt with according to the relevant regulations of the university's academic registration management.

    Within the flexible academic system, students can choose to study double majors and double degrees.

VII. Graduation and Employment

    The employment rate of graduates of this major has been higher than similar majors in the province. Except for some of them who further study for master's degree in universities at home and abroad, they mainly focus on human resource management work in government agencies, enterprises and institutions, as well as professional teaching and research work of human resource management in higher and secondary vocational colleges. Over the years, all walks of life have given high evaluation to the comprehensive quality and working ability of the graduates of this major, and the popularity and social reputation of the major have been continuously improved.
