Recently, Professor Huang Hong from our college collaborated with Dr. Liu Tingting from the University of Science and Technology of China and Professor Yang Ruiju from Nanjing Audit University to publish an academic paper titled Do Confucian values and working experience matter? The impact of provincial governors' characteristics on the management level of major road accidents in China in the top journal Risk Analysis (SCI/SSCIJCR Q1) in the field of risk management.
Risk Analysis is an official journal of the Risk Analysis Association (SRA), a four star ABS academic journal published by the Association of Business Schools (ABS), and an A-level international FMS management science journal with an average impact factor of 4.155 in the past five years.
The paper uses the power law distribution scaling index of road traffic accidents to describe the management level of major traffic accidents in a region. Based on higher-order theory, it explores the relationship between the characteristics of provincial governors and the management level of major traffic accidents, and introduces Confucian culture into the framework of higher-order theory. Research has found that the level of major traffic accident management is related to the tenure of provincial governors, central background, and Confucian culture. Moreover, when traffic regulation pressure is high, Confucian culture has a stronger positive impact on the level of major traffic accident management. The study has promoted our understanding of the relationship between the traits of public sector leaders and organizational outcomes.
