Introduction of the major of Electronic Commerce

    The E-commerce program of our university started to enroll officially in 2003, and has trained nearly a thousand qualified E-commerce graduates so far, with the employment rate of students reaching over 90%. At present, there are 16 teachers in the Department of E-commerce, including 2 professors and 7 associate professors. From the academic structure, there are 3 doctors in the Department of E-commerce and 2 doctors in study. There is one Longhu Scholar and one outstanding young talent in Anhui Province.

    Since its establishment, the Department of E-Commerce has strictly adhered to the requirements of professional training objectives, attached importance to the close integration of theory and practice, and focused on exercising students' practical ability along the professional characteristics of promoting learning through events, and cultivated students' innovation spirit and entrepreneurial ability by organizing and participating in various simulation events to simulate real business scenarios.

    As of July 2017, the Department of E-commerce has advocated and actively participated in many national, provincial, ministerial and university-level events, including China's First E-commerce Competition, National E-commerce 'Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Challenge, National Student E-commerce Competition, Alibaba China Student Online Business of Tomorrow Challenge, National Student Internet Marketing Competition, National Business College Mobile Business Professional Skills Competition, Personal Career Design Competition for College Students, Internet+ Competition, etc. Competition and so on. In the China's First E-commerce Competition, it won the winning prize and excellent organization prize; in the Fourth National Business College Mobile Business Professional Skills Competition, it won the first prize; it successfully organized the Third National College Students E-commerce Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Competition in Anhui. Challenge of Anhui Region. Especially in the National E-commerce Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Challenge for College Students organized by the Ministry of Education, we have achieved good results for many years, winning 5 national awards and many provincial awards, and many instructors were awarded the title of Excellent Instructor. Through the knowledge gained and experience accumulated in the competition, students can quickly get started with their jobs in the employment units, which really plays the purpose of promoting learning through competition.

I. Training objectives:

    E-commerce is a new interdisciplinary discipline integrating modern computer science, management, economics and law. The major insists on cultivating people with moral character and aims to cultivate students who are well-rounded in moral, intellectual and physical development, have a solid theoretical foundation of modern business management, master the methods of modern information science and technology, skillfully use modern e-commerce tools to carry out business activities, have professional core abilities such as network marketing, network services, big data and business applications, have high quality, know management, can operate, strong ability, and are rich in innovation, e-commerce Project planning and design ability, teamwork consciousness and network entrepreneurship ability of applied, composite senior professionals.

II. Core Corses:

   Introduction to E-commerce, Network Economics, Network Information Resource Management, Network Payment, Enterprise E-commerce Management, Network Marketing, E-commerce Web Design, E-commerce Case Study, Logistics Management and Frontier Lectures on E-commerce, etc. At the same time, nearly 90% of the courses in the Department of E-commerce have corresponding experimental courses in varying degrees. The E-commerce laboratory has 56 student machines and one special machine for teachers, which can complete basic computer operations, webpage production, image processing, animation design, database development and program writing functions. Equipped with several sets of e-commerce simulation teaching software, students can personally experience a variety of e-commerce modes such as B2B, B2C, EDI, etc., and can engage in a variety of practical activities of e-commerce such as network construction and network marketing.

    The teachers of our department also undertake the organization, management and teaching of the university-wide large-scale experimental course ERP Comprehensive Practical Training and the teaching of the course Interdisciplinary Comprehensive Experiment of Management.

III. Teaching and research achievements:

    As of the end of July 2017, teachers of the Department of Electronic Commerce have published about 120 academic papers publicly as the first author in domestic and foreign journals, including 32 core Chinese journals such as Reform, Finance and Trade Economy, Finance and Trade Research, China Science and Technology Forum, Journal of Management, Foreign Economics and Management, International Trade Issues, and Intelligence Theory and Practice. He has presided over and participated in more than 40 scientific research and teaching research projects, including 1 National Natural Science Foundation Youth Project, 3 Humanities and Social Science Projects of the Ministry of Education, 3 projects of Anhui Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Planning Office, 2 projects of Anhui Provincial Natural Science Foundation for Universities, 6 Humanities and Social Science Projects of Anhui Provincial Education Department, 2 projects of China General Chamber of Commerce for Supply and Marketing; more than 10 teaching research projects, including 2 projects of Anhui Provincial Quality Project for Universities and 1 project of University Excellence Course. More than 10 teaching and research projects, including 2 projects of Anhui University Quality Project, 1 project of University Excellence Course, 1 project of University Excellence Talent Program and several other school-level teaching and research projects; 3 textbooks.

IV. Career Opportunities:

    After graduation, students of this major can engage in professional work such as user demand mining based on big data, construction of new e-commerce business model, transformation of e-commerce business of traditional enterprises, website content maintenance and online marketing (including cross-border e-commerce), etc. They can also engage in e-commerce project management, planning and operation of e-commerce activities. They can also be employed in banks, enterprises and institutions, government agencies and universities by engaging in Internet finance and back-office operations of banks (network operations).
