I. Professional Overview

    Anhui University of Finance and Economics is one of the earliest colleges and universities in Anhui Province to train undergraduate and master's degree students in tourism management, and also the first batch of units in China to confer the professional degree of Master of Tourism Management (MTA). The major of tourism management was approved as a provincial specialty in 2014 and a provincial excellence talent program in 2019, and was rated A- grade in the assessment of management majors in Anhui Province in 2019. The major follows the new trend of tourism development and the new demand of tourism market, relies on the advantages of the university's economic and management disciplines and its own applied characteristics, focuses on cooperation with high-level universities outside of China, and strengthens the training of students' innovative and entrepreneurial literacy and professional practical ability.

II. Faculty

    There are 12 full-time faculty members in this program. Among them, there are 2 professors (including 1 specially appointed professor from overseas), 4 associate professors and 6 doctors. 4 teachers are interview judges of the National Qualification Examination for Tour Guides, 3 teachers are young experts of tourism industry in Anhui Province, 3 teachers are appointed as quality assessors of tourism scenic spots by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Anhui Province, 1 teacher is an international registered senior etiquette trainer, and many teachers have visited and exchanged with high level universities abroad. In addition, industry experts from large tourism groups are hired as industry mentors or part-time professors.

III. Training Objectives

    With the popularization of mobile internet, online payment, artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, virtual reality and other new technology applications and the implementation of tourism + strategy, the cross-border integration of tourism and finance, real estate, exhibition, aviation, education, culture, sports, recreation and other industries is gradually deepening. The major is committed to cultivating high-level applied professionals with core competencies in tourism investment and financing analysis, tourism new business management, tourism creative planning, tourism destination management, tourism development planning, tourism service management, etc., with innovative spirit, entrepreneurial awareness, practical ability and international vision. At the same time, in response to the needs of tourism transformation and upgrading and cross-border integration development, two special directions of tourism investment and financing management and tourism new business operation management are selected for students to choose to study.

IV. Cultivation Advantages

(1) Cooperative education between industry, university and research

    It insists on the idea of collaborative education between industry, university and research, and closely integrates scientific research, talent training and industry practice, with theoretical teaching and practical teaching complementing each other, especially focusing on the combination of classroom teaching, mobile classroom and internship practice. Every semester, students are arranged to go to tourism enterprises to carry out mobile classroom teaching, and every academic year, students are organized to go to international and domestic large tourism enterprise groups to carry out practical training, and regular lectures and expert forums are held for professional managers to improve students' professionalism and enhance their career development ability.

(2) All-round innovation and entrepreneurial literacy training

    In response to the development trend of deep integration of modern information technology and tourism, we actively respond to the requirements of the New Economic Management project of our university, implant information technology courses such as Internet, big data and cloud computing into the personnel training program, organically embed innovation and entrepreneurship education into the whole process of personnel training, and promote undergraduate students to go to the United States, South Korea and Taiwan and other overseas famous In the past five years, the students of this major have been trained in the field of tourism management.

In the past five years, students of this major have won 45 national and provincial-level skill and science and technology competitions, and more than 50 national and provincial-level creative projects, and two students have been selected as the first batch of Anhui Tourism Talent Training Program. The initial employment rate of 2018 and 2019 graduates is 100%.
